EN: Tournament System Needs Change Again, Team Germany Does Not Come This Time

The LAPP Cup Tournament organizers must change the tournament system for the second year in a row. Whereas the Russian team Perspectiva Russia had to cancel their participation due to doping penalty last year (see HERE), the situation is different this time. The German team Weserstars Bremen cancelled their participation due to low number of players.

„We are quite upset. Unfortunately this is for the second year in a row when a club disrupted our tournament completely. Although, it was a different situation last year since the club could not prevent it back then. It is quite late now for other clubs we had previously had to reject due to a full-roster to come to LAPP Cup after all. It cannot be done. The tournament will be played in seven teams only again”, the tournament CEO Petr Julina regrets.

Thus, only a total of seven teams will start in the tournament while the tournament system will be all-to-all. Game time to all the matches will be 2 x 15 minutes.
