EN: LAPP Cup Zlín 2017: Eight teams from seven countries. Washington does not arrive
The organizers of the 7th year’s LAPP Cup have published the tournament roster. The possibly most-quality club tournament within the European continent will involve famous teams from seven countries who will take place in a roster of eight. The overseas team will eventually not come.
Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Russia, Germany, Austria and Sweden, this is the list of seven European countries, from which teams will arrive to compete for medals. We hate to announce that three famous clubs will not arrive to the Bata’s town eventually. “The other Russian team enlisted too late to the tournament. However, they are considered a substitute team. Then, for the first time after several years, the Norwegian team Oslo Tigers will not arrive because of their financial issue. They are very sorry about that since they contacted us to enlist them in the first place,” says Petr Julina, the tournament CEO, “furthermore, we were very pleased that even an overseas team from Washington DC was willing to arrive but even they had to cope up with an financial issue,” Julina explains.
Germany will be represented by Wesserstars Bremen, the team of which acquired the bronze position last year, while their Friday’s match with home team of Zlin rewrote the tournament's history by having been completely sold out back then.
As usual, Sweden will be represented by FIFH Malmö, who ended up sixth in 2016, that is semi-last. South Tyrols Eagles from Italy ended up in second place. Austrians will have two teams: a regular participant Carinthian Steelers – seventh place in 2016 and Warriors Wien, a tournament rookie.
Last year’s winner from Russia, Fenix Moskva, will be substituted by a young promising team Perspektiva Russia. Of course, the local organizer team SHK LAPP Zlin will participate, as well.
The eighth team will be a Slovakian Team Bancont Dolný Kubín.
LAPP Cup Zlín 2017 will take place in Zlin, Czech Republic from September 7 to September 9.
